Westwinds Communities is a provincially legislated not for profit serving the Foothills Region of Southern Alberta. Established in 1960, it is a registered charity recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Serving over 800 households annually, Westwinds provides affordable housing and support services tailored to seniors, families, and individuals. Its programs prioritize safe, high-quality housing while fostering independence and well-being in the community. • Near Market and Market Housing with rents 10% -30% below market rates. • Affordable Housing/ Independent Living: Housing for low-income families, singles and seniors, with rents set at 30% of household income. • Retirement Living: Supportive housing for seniors, offering meals, activities, and a secure environment. Westwinds also administers the Rental Assistance Benefits on behalf of the Alberta Government, providing long-term financial subsidies to help low-income Albertans afford their current rental homes.
