Front Door Partnership Agreement

Front Door Partnership Agreement

This Front Door Partnership Agreement (“Agreement”) sets out the terms under which an organization (“Participating Organization”) may list projects on Front Door, an online platform operated by Partners for Affordable Housing (“Partners”).

The Participating Organization confirms its eligibility to participate in Front Door and agrees to the terms outlined below.

1. About Front Door

Front Door is a national online platform designed to increase visibility, transparency, and coordination across affordable, transitional, and supportive housing projects in Canada. It provides a consistent, funder-ready format for housing providers and community organizations to present project information, funding needs, and anticipated outcomes.

Front Door is intended to support ecosystem coordination, funder engagement, and fundraising readiness. Inclusion on Front Door does not guarantee funding and does not constitute an endorsement of any project by Partners.

2. Eligibility and Attestation

The Participating Organization attests that it is one of the following:

  • a registered nonprofit organization;

  • a registered charity;

  • an Indigenous government or Indigenous-led governing body; or

  • a municipally owned corporation or entity.

The Participating Organization further attests that it has the authority to submit project information and to agree to these terms on behalf of the organization.

3. Accuracy of Information

The Participating Organization confirms that all information submitted to Front Door is true, accurate, and complete to the best of its knowledge at the time of submission.

Partners relies on the Participating Organization’s representations and does not independently verify submitted information.

4. Ongoing Updates

The Participating Organization agrees to keep all project information current and to update Front Door in a timely manner as material details change, including but not limited to project scope, budgets, funding gaps, timelines, or status.

5. Use and Sharing of Information

By participating in Front Door, the Participating Organization grants Partners permission to:

  • display submitted project information on the Front Door platform;

  • share project information with prospective funders, partners, and stakeholders; and

  • develop communications and marketing materials that reference the Participating Organization’s project(s) and/or Front Door.

The Participating Organization retains ownership of its project data and intellectual property. Partners will use reasonable efforts to represent project information accurately and in good faith.

6. Marketing and Communications Support

Partners will provide the Participating Organization with a Front Door marketing package, which may include project summaries, platform descriptions, and suggested language for communications.

The Participating Organization is encouraged to use these materials to share that its project is listed on Front Door, to direct funders and partners to the platform, and to support its own fundraising and communications efforts.

7. Cost and Use of Front Door

There is no cost to list projects on Front Door or to use the platform.

Participation in Front Door does not obligate the Participating Organization to participate in fundraising activities led by Partners and does not limit or restrict the Participating Organization’s independent fundraising efforts.

8. Use of Front Door and Non-Solicitation

Front Door is intended to support transparency, coordination, and funding readiness for housing projects. It is not a commercial marketplace nor a tool for soliciting business.

The Participating Organization agrees not to use Front Door to:

  • solicit or promote commercial services, products, or consulting engagements;

  • market fee-for-service offerings to other Front Door users or to funders accessing the platform; or

  • use project listings or platform access for business development unrelated to advancing the listed housing projects.

Partners reserves the right to remove content or suspend participation where Front Door is used in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose.

9. Administrative Fee on Funder Introductions

If Partners introduces a funder who makes a new financial contribution in support of a Participating Organization’s project, Partners will apply an administrative fee, charged to the funder and deducted from the gross amount.

This administrative fee supports the costs associated with funder outreach, coordination, reporting, platform maintenance, and shared fundraising infrastructure.

The administrative fee is applied on a sliding scale as follows:

  • Total $100,000 - Total Fee $15,000 (Effective 15%)

  • Total $500,000 - Total Fee $55,000 (Effective 11%)

  • Total $1,000,000 - Total Fee $92,500 (Effective 9.25%)

  • Total $2,000,000 - Total Fee $132,500 (Effective 6.63%)

  • Total $5,000,000 - Total Fee $237,500 (Effective 4.75%)

  • Total $10,000,000 - Total Fee $387,500 (Effective 3.88%)

No administrative fee is applied to funds raised independently by the Participating Organization without Partners’ involvement.

10. Relationship to Funders

Participation in Front Door does not create an agency, partnership, joint venture, or fiduciary relationship between Partners and the Participating Organization.

Funders may choose to support projects directly, through Partners-supported efforts, or both. Participation in Front Door does not restrict the Participating Organization’s funder relationships.

11. Confidentiality

Non-public information shared through Front Door will be treated as confidential unless disclosure is authorized by the Participating Organization or required by law.

12. Term and Withdrawal

This Agreement takes effect upon using the platform and remains in effect unless terminated by either party.

The Participating Organization may request removal of its projects from Front Door at any time with reasonable notice. Partners may remove projects that no longer meet eligibility requirements or that contain materially inaccurate or misleading information.

13. Non-Binding Nature

This Agreement reflects the good-faith understanding of the parties and does not create legally binding obligations beyond the representations and permissions expressly stated herein.
