The Jack Long Foundation is a registered charity; its mission is to create affordable housing by working with communities. JLF’s is presently focused on community based supported living; in particular building the first Elderhouse, a small scale, non-institutional home and prototype for community and area seniors to age in place. JLF has developed the model in consultation with community stakeholders (who defined the need), seniors who are prospective residents and Alberta Health. Elderhouse design shares and reflects the AB Government’s objectives and values of: - community connection; resident focused care & aging in place; inclusion in community life & appropriate supports in collaboration with Alberta Health. JLF commits to branding and sharing the Elderhouse prototype.
