DESCRIPTION
Elderhouse is a 17-unit supported living prototype designed for replication across populations needing housing supports. A small-home alternative to institutional care, it responds to seniors’ fears of isolation, loss of autonomy, and being “warehoused.” Designed as a shared home, Elderhouse fosters connection, dignity, and whole-person health through 24/7 on-site support, family-style meals, and Alberta Health Homecare services. Fourteen accessible units and three independent one-bedroom suites allow residents to age in place with flexible supports.
