Edmonton Women’s Shelter Ltd., colloquially known as WIN House (Women In Need), has 55+ years of experience developing and operating supportive housing and providing essential services for women, children, and non-binary individuals fleeing violence. WIN House owns and operates three shelters in Edmonton, with a capacity for 60 people between two emergency shelters as well as 11 individuals at our second stage shelter. WIN House offers women, non-binary individuals, and children a safe place to flee violence. Along with providing a safe place to sleep, we provide system navigation and innovative, preventative programming such as on-site nursing, on-site counselling, childcare, and cultural programming for those in our shelters. WIN House is an indispensable pillar of the community, playing a critical role in supporting survivors and actively working to prevent violence in Edmonton and the surrounding areas.WIN House sheltered 330 women and 225 children last year.
