The program assists Indigenous women transitioning from our transitional housing program, women being released from federal prison and parole expiry, and adults and youth involved in restorative justice. In addition to providing stable housing for singles, the program supports the reunifications of families. Human Impact Story
A young lady arrived at Dana's House and was resistant to the program and culture. As she continued through the program she became more engaged in skills, Elders and cultural programming. She began to focus on past trauma, and her reluctance to connect to her culture. She began to understand how her past created her criminal justice issues. She came from a destructive relationship with her family members, began to set boundaries and improved the relationship through confidence and using her voice. As she began to heal, she felt more confident and returned to work. She successful transitioned to her own home and worked.
