YWCA Banff's mission is shaping a safe and inclusive Bow Valley that empowers women and their community for a better future. We focus on advocacy and leadership to prevent gender-based violence, and provide housing and shelter for emergency and supportive needs through collaboration with diverse community partners. YWCA Banff primarily supports women and children fleeing domestic or sexualized violence, individuals facing housing insecurity or homelessness, and those seeking counseling or outreach. Services are confidential, free, and open to people of any gender across the Bow Valley, from Mînî Thnî to Lake Louise. We work closely with municipalities and nonprofits like Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley and Canmore Community Housing. We co-chair the Homeless to Housing Coalition (H2HC) and advance system-level solutions such as the Coordinated Access and Referral System (CARS) to align strategies and advocate for change.
