Homelessness

The Elizabeth Fry Society of Northern Alberta is an intersectional feminist nonprofit dedicated to advancing the dignity, rights, and wellbeing of women, girls, and gender-diverse people impacted by criminalization, poverty, homelessness, and systemic inequities. We serve individuals across Edmonton and Northern Alberta through programs in justice support, housing, financial empowerment, cultural wellness, and our 24/7 emergency shelter. Many of the people we support face complex barriers, including trauma, violence, and intergenerational disadvantage. We work from a trauma‑informed and culturally grounded approach, with specific focus on Indigenous women’s wellbeing and healing. We are actively seeking partnerships with health, housing, justice, and community organizations to strengthen wrap‑around supports, improve access to care, and create pathways out of homelessness and criminalization. Together, we can build safer, more inclusive systems for those most marginalized.
