The Calgary Drop-In Centre works with community to end homelessness, one person at a time. We help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness access permanent, supported, and affordable housing. We provide low-barrier, housing-focused emergency shelter for up to 1,028 beds, 365 days per year, doors open 24/7, serving individuals 16 and older. Our clients include diverse vulnerable populations, many with histories of significant trauma, navigating substance use disorders and/or mental or physical health challenges. Comprehensive services include diversion, sleep programs, hygiene, laundry, meals, crisis support, health and recovery services, and housing placement. Programming is trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centred, focusing on prevention and positive housing outcomes. We own and operate three affordable housing buildings and a Free Goods Program that collects and distributes essential items to those in need.
