DESCRIPTION
Since summer 2024, Ranch Ehrlo has been developing a business plan to address critical infrastructure needs at Lakeshore Village. Building Condition Assessments, an Energy Audit, and architectural and engineering costing identified major mechanical, electrical, structural, and safety deficiencies requiring significant upgrades and unit refurbishments. The estimated cost exceeds $2 million. With 75–80% of tenants relying on provincial income supports, rental revenue cannot cover rising operating and repair costs. While new affordable housing is needed, preserving existing units is essential. The project depends on grants, loans, fundraising, and internal funding. Through partnerships, Ranch Ehrlo aims to preserve affordable housing, prevent displacement, and reduce houselessness.

Project Funding
Funding Required
In order to remain sustainable in the years to come and to overcome increasing operating costs, we are seeking up to $2M. We are applying for grants and loans as they come available from all 3 levels of government, however we are experiencing difficulty as this project is not a priority 'new build'. We are seeking funds from private donors where possible.
Funds Raised
City of Regina - up to $50,000 pre-development funds; City of Regina - up to $500,000 repair funds
Use of funds
The funds will be used to pay for costs associated with Phase 2 of the project in the amount of $1.5M. Revitalization of this project will ensure that it remains in the affordable housing network and we can continue to meet the needs of low-income and vulnerable families by providing a safe, secure and stable home for future generations.
