DESCRIPTION
A home is a foundation for independence, choice, and belonging. It’s a place where people can build their own lives and meaningfully contribute to their community, grounded in the security of home and the warmth of authentic community. The Anchorage will provide fifteen units of housing for adults with developmental disabilities who can live independently with some oversight. The Anchorage will be located within ten minutes walking distance from LCV’s group home (Jubilee House) and the I Belong Centre, a multi-use facility that houses the IBC Suites, LCV’s administration and community outreach centre. The Anchorage is based on the successful IBC Suites model. Suites average 500 square feet, and are self-contained, with a bathroom, kitchen and in-suite laundry. To foster a community ethos, there is also a community gathering space for celebrations and tenant meetings. Rents will be subsidized by LCV to ensure affordability for those living on a disability pension.
